Known as a pioneer of kinetic sculpture, Filipino artist Gabriel (Gabby) Barredo died on January 6 this year at his home in Manila. He was 62 years old.
Barredo, as well as for his sculptures, was known for creating large-scale immersive installations that incorporated found objects and kinetic components; his recent projects have often been complemented with music and performances by artists.
