This is the most famous koliada (Christmas eve) fortunetelling with a candle and mirror, which is placed on a table in a dark room a little before midnight. A girl stares intently into the mirror and at the stroke of midnight she is supposed to see a man looking over her shoulder. This man is believed to be her future husband.
