“Resist, by all lawful means, any and all efforts to deny us our rights.”
—A.P. TureaudA.P. Tureaud Sr (1899–1972) was the New Orleans NAACP attorney during the Civil Rights Movement, and with the help from the likes of Thurgood Marshall he filed the lawsuit ending the system of Jim Crow segregation in New Orleans. Tureaud Sr met his wife Lucille in the 1920s in the rooftop garden of The Pythian building at Gravier St and Loyola Ave, and almost a century later local New Orleans artist and activist Brandan Odums, aka BMike, portrayed the couple inside the new @PythianMarket food hall downstairs. @bmike2c/
